Showcase PolderbitS
PolderbitS Software is a company that publishes multimedia software using the shareware model. PolderbitS Software was established in 1999 by Rudy Kok, a senior programmer working for an International business to business software company at that time. The PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor were developed in the late nineties quite “incidental”. Rudy’s friend John is chairman of a fan club of a Dutch singer and he was in need of a tool to get live performances to CD. As available tools at the time were cumbersome and very hard to use, Rudy decided to write his own, and hence the PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor was born. |
The first 2 years business grew slowly as Rudy’s site got more visitors and PolderbitS got more customers. Early 2002 PolderbitS started with some basic marketing activities; the software was submitted to the large download sites and business started to grow. Mid 2002 the revenues were sufficient for Rudy to quit his daytime job and focus on PolderbitS fulltime. By then 6000 copies of the Sound Recorder were sold and users were excited about the software.
In the last quarter of 2002 PolderbitS decided to partner with Maxshareware to accelerate the growth and a business development agreement was signed in November 2002.
